CELI Italian Exams – Certify Your Language Skills

The CELI exam (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) is an internationally recognized certificate for Italian as a foreign or second language. It assesses language skills in the areas of listening, reading, writing and speaking and is based on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): CELI 1, CELI 2, CELI 3, CELI 4 and CELI 5.

The CELI certificate is recognized worldwide by educational institutions, employers and authorities and serves as proof of language skills for work, study or residence in Italy.

Celi Impatto - A1

The exam lasts at all levels:

Written exam - 2h
Listening comprehension - 20 min
Oral exam - 10 min

CELI Ordinario: Standard exam without specialization, recommended for people aged 16 and over (A1-C2)
CELI Adolescenti: For young people aged between 13 and 17 (A2-B2)
CELI Immigranti: For migration-related purposes (A1-B1)

The number of exam places is limited. Please register early using the registration form or directly with us on site.
The respective registration deadline can be found in the table "Examination dates & registration deadlines".

Unfortunately, registrations received after this date cannot be considered.

The examination fee must be paid by the end of the registration period.

Withdrawals made before the deadline will be subject to a processing fee of CHF 30.
Withdrawals made after the deadline will result in thefullexam feebeing charged.
Withdrawals must be submitted exclusively via email.

Generally only possible after the registration deadline in the case of medically confirmed illness. Examination fees can be transferred to a later date; a medical certificate is required for this. Processing fees will be charged, refunds are not possible.

The evaluation time is usually 3 to 4 months. On request and for an additional charge, an express evaluation can be requested, where the results are issued within 2 to 3 weeks. However, this depends on the capacity of the CELI

The CELI certificate is internationally recognized by educational institutions, employers and authorities and serves as proof of language skills for work, study or residence in Italy. For naturalization in Switzerland, the required knowledge of Italian can also be proven with a CELI certificate in the Italian-speaking cantons.

The CELI certificate is recognized for naturalization in Switzerland.
